Amazing Views and Cockatoos!

Today we went to a park called the Botanical Gardens to go feed the Cockatoos. We went there to find a herd of them flying around and jumping on people while we fed them bread. Afterwards we continue to walk around the gardens to see an amazing view of the Harbor Bridge and Opera House.

Sunday Fun Day! (2)

It's been almost a week now since our last "Sunday Fun Day" but I figured I write a quick post now that I have some free time.

So for our last Sunday Fun Day we decided to go to Featherdale National Park where we got to pet Koala Bears and feed Kangaroos. It was only an hour trip up there and when we arrived we were welcomed by Wallabies hopping around and Emus hanging out. When we got into the next section of the park that is when we saw the Koala Bears who may have become my new favorite animal. They were just hanging out and sleeping in tree branches.

There was hanging out on a branch outside that we got to pet and take pictures with. After that it was off to the Kangaroos who were just lying around with the Emus. We hung out with them for a bit and fed them some food and walked around some more to hang out with some goats, wombats, tazmanian devils, and crocodiles.

Overall it was another great Sunday Fun Day ... Enjoy the pictures!

Last day at AMI

After two weeks of working at Advanced Medical Institute I have decided to move on. Its been a fun two weeks of booking people for Heart Checks but I'm moving to another company called, News Community Media, where I will now be making $20/hr to set business owners up to go to seminars for an hr. Hopefully its just as fun and there are some good bonuses to be made.

Sunday Funday!

We decided every Sunday in Australia that we are no longer going to be lazy and instead find a random activity to do. This week we went indoor rock climbing at one of the biggest rock climbing gyms in Australia. Here are some pics from our day of fun.

Random Pics from Sydney

Life in Sydney

We have been in Sydney for a little over two weeks and in that time we have accomplished a lot. After staying in a hostel for almost a week and a half we found a great place to live thats only a couple blocks away. We have a nice size room in an international house consisting of people from Scotland, Canada, Belgium, and Australia with two more people moving in in the next couple of weeks as the people who use to live here look for new people to take there place. Rent is not too bad here. We are paying about $600/month each.

Also we have successfully interviewed and got a job working at a call center. Life here is much more expensive but they also pay a lot more. For our first job in Sydney we are making $18.50/hr plus commission to set people up for appointments to get there Heart Check. We have also applied and received are Tax File ID Number and set up a Bank Account at a local bank called NAB so we will be able to get paid as well.

Today we finally figured out how to get internet set up. Apparently none of the houses here have internet so we bought a wireless modem that allows us to access the internet from anywhere so Ill be able to update this blog more frequently and post pictures again.

So far life in Sydney has been pretty great overall though with lots of backpackers hanging around this area there's something to do every night. Tomorrow we are going rock climbing with the roommates as part of what will hopefully become the start of a new tradition called "Sunday Funday" where we will try to do something random and new each week.
